Moist, rich, and loaded with chocolatey goodness — this banana bread is pure comfort in every bite, with a soft crumb and gooey chocolate chips throughout.

INGREDIENTS

3 ripe bananas (mashed)
1/2 cup butter (softened)
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
X baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup mini chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS

STEP 1
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.

STEP 2
In a large bowl, cream together 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy.

STEP 3
Beat in 2 large eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until well combined.

STEP 4
Add the remaining ingredients: flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, mashed banana, and sour cream. Mix until just combined — do not overmix.

STEP 5
Fold in 1 cup chocolate chips (plus a few extra for topping, if desired).

STEP 6
Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55 minutes, or until the top is golden and cracked, and a toothpick comes out mostly clean.

STEP 7
Cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.

Tip: You can use the same batter for muffins — just bake at 350°F for about 25 minutes.
